About Me
I feel my career path started to take off when I became a Holistic Therapist many years ago. I trained in aromatherapy, massage, reflexology and reiki. I became passionate about everything mind, body & spirit and working holistically. This passion has stayed with me and is in everything I do. After being a carer and support worker, I eventually went on to work with children and spent 5 years as a pupil support assistant. It was here I realised I wanted to become a counsellor as the children and young people needed so much emotional support which I realised was my main strength. I needed to do more to support people's mental health and well being. I then went on to study counselling for 3 years. My main training was in an amazing LGBTQ+ charity where I gained the most incredible experience. I worked with a diverse group of clients with varied and complexed issues. I was challenged which made me realise this is where I thrive. Prior to setting up Peaceful Pathways Counselling I worked for a children's charity as a counsellor and mental health practitioner in 3 primary schools where I supported children, families and school staff's mental health and well being through various interventions such as one to one counselling and short term solution focused therapy.
I have experience of working with children and young people and adults.
I have a calm, warm nature, I love to laugh and I'm very down to earth. I bring my genuine self into the room so there may be laughter and tears throughout the counselling process. I look forward to meeting you!
